Just curious to who uses what and why.

Because I have more control over the car, throttle, and brake. A wheel gives you a level of precision that a regular controller just can't match.
I used to be pretty good at racing games with just a controller, but after getting used to a wheel... I just can't go back. But I find the keyboard to be 'simpler' in a way to use. But that must be from years of keyboard and mouse use.

The wheel does give you that precision/subtlety that you need for corners, especially coming out of corners, and it gives you the sensation/immersion that you're driving a kick * BMW, which in real life I wont.

Oh, also the pedals play a huge part.

PS: I think a gamepad is actually faster then a wheel. (shorter lock to lock distance it takes time to turn a wheel especially with force feedback enabled) same as driving assists off or on; assists on may be faster but it kills the experience.

I've used this joystick in every NFS title since HP2. It feels solid, comfortable, and takes up very little room. I also have a MOMO (red housing), and a G25, but the joystick is my favorite.

Same here. No wheel comes close to it, not eaven the G27 (couse it doesn't have H shifter, and I personally think the wheel itself looks more like a toy then the G25).
For me, the posibility to be able to simulate the gearbox and rotation in degrees of the wheel of any car in sims and games is most important. Sure it costs a bit but if you are into driving sims then there is no real rival, except for the Fanatec Porsche Wheel.
