my name is William M. (ch-biLL on the forum, chilango70 or Chilango on PS3).
I am french and i live in Norway.

it may sounds weird, but even if the visual section in NSF SHIFT is just a big crappy frustration, I like to spend a lot of time on it anyway.

here are some of my cars with my own original layouts.

first, in Need for Speed, you take some snapshots during REPLAY for instance.

your pictures are sent to your profile page at www.needforspeed.com

you can find them at MYNFS section.

note: you cannot have more than 10 pictures at once at your MYNFS page. if you try to get more than 10, the newest pictures will replace the oldest ones. be careful with that.

then, you download your pictures on your Harddisk.
This step generates some color mistakes on my PC, I don t know why.
If you ever get the same problem, here is my solution to go ever it. (otherwise, skip the 6 next steps)
1) I open the picture in my browser.
2) Then I press the PRT SCR key on my keyboard.
3) Then I open a new file in such a program as Paint or Photoshop
4) in this new file, I do PASTE ( or CTRL V if you like it better with keyboard shortcut)
5) I crop only the part of the picture I want to keep
6) i save the picture... et voilà!

Now we got our pictures on the Hard Disk and we want to put them on the forum.
to do so, I go there (it s free and you can upload as much as you wish):

there i upload my picture.
when the picture is uploaded, a new screen appears with differents links.
All that you need to do then, is to copy the Forum link in a your forum message and your picture will display in your message.

simple, fast and easy.

I am actually working again on that shelby, I am not Quite satisfied with the flames and the colors I used on the back of that car.
As soon as the car is ready, I post it again. But it will be surely a little while, since I have to build my whole kitchen in the 2 following weeks.

Actually, they should make something like the Mii Parade on Wii.
Each time you play someone, you could add the layout of someone else on your delivery list if the ORIGINAL creator allow to share the layout he created, but this layout would be locked for ever for adjustment at once it has started to spread online.
And they even could make a top 10 for each cars to know which creator succeed to spread his layouts on the most players online..

I think that would be fun, and this way, maybe I would have some chances to spread my name on NFS

When a mod gets out they should be able to delete the account and also delete all messages they've posted. I just dont understand why they dont implement some form of anti-bot registration technique (like blurred text, random number generator, email auth etc).

EDIT: Oh, also, best thing to do is just press "Alert" on the top right corner of their post and mark it as spam. The more people that report it, the more likely its going to get picked up sooner!

an average project takes me about 2-3 hours.

But the first projects were hard, because I was not aware of the basic traps due to the vinyl system that can be often crap for new beginners. The previous NFS vinyl system was far more friendly, someone should explain me why the H**LL EA have changed it to make something worse!?!

Well, where or how do i start projects? that s hard to answer indeed.

My advices would be,
1) NEVER start with details. Beginners often do so. Typical example, they start with a logo. chance of success to get a beautiful car starting so: very low.
2) think all the sides at the same time, this is a hard thing at first, but with a little training you will learn it. i used to work with all the sides at the same time. I DO NOT finish one side and then start the other one.
3) try to remember EXACTLY where your colors stands on the pick up color tool. it is always usefull if you need to find them back.
4) if you are beginner, at first follow the lines of your car with your vinyls, your design will fit your car much more better doing so.
5) try to find a thema, if your creativity is not your best quality, then it helps to start and to go further in your work (some example of themas: Gold and Black, Stars and stripes, rising sun, Black death, Japan, Ninja, rainbow, Yin and Yang, Big flag, etc).
6) Personnally i prefer to start with all that the bigger vinyls that stand under and I finish with details.
7) Don t put too much logo, they often just kill the look of your car. Well it s my opinion.
6) I used to make a graphic element that i reapeat on both side of the car, and on top of it. It helps to get an graphic harmony when you look at your car on different angles
7) you will surely have to fail some few times before you manage something you are happy with. So don t give up after 2 or 3 attempts!
8 ) try to understand how i made my cars, you will surely learn lots of tricks.
9) And to answer one of your questions, No I am not a pro, i have nothing to do with cars or video game industry.

be aware that at first, the vinyl system is quite frustrating (not as good as the one in the previous NFS, and I am kind in my judgement) and it s easy to get confused when you want to manage some complex layout. But don t give up, everyone willing to create a decent design had to go through this learning process.

to answer your question, This Bart\s head took me about 90 minutes to draw.

it s much easier than you think IF

1) you are aware of the potential vinyls TRAPS (and they are many) so you avoid them before they pop up
2) and if you can draw a bit.

I was not satisfied with my previous Stingray dedicated to Bart Simpson, therefore I have worked on it once again to get a better Simpson universe feeling.

I was not using any chet. the torc was to close the horse power
