@TSTO , You may have notice that the cars in the video actually brake before many turns, maybe you should try that to. In SHIFT I'm not sliding around the corners either. I'm slower than this guys on the video (but I would really doubt the reality value of SHIFT if I would have been faster)

PS. I'm playing on PC (this seems to matter according some posters than compared the physics model between the consoles and pc) and with a G25 wheel

You misunderstood me. I'm playing the hell out of the game and loving it, I simply feel that the cars feel a bit more sluggish than they should. I know how to drive, I've went to race tracks and drove my G35 coupe in them. I played plenty of racing games, and I know the tuning aspect. So stop saying learn to drive learn to tune blah blah blah. I still love the game, I never said I didn't, it just feels like it slides a TINY bit too much.

If I don't go faster then the real driver I won't notice understeer when turning into a corner nor do my tires make much noise. The bigest difference IMO is (and that probably is one of the reasons why the sense of speed is a exaggerated) is that in the game you don't feel any G-forces. In a real car you can feel in you butt when you are driving near/on/over the limit of you car.

I can't keep up with the real race driver (suprise, suprise) so the video will go out of sync in no-time. (which with the stupid windows movie maker is already near impossible to do, see another try: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxuYPE0660I ) I mainly wanted to compare them to see if the understeer some people complain about was driver or program error. (it's driver error; if you corner with the same speed as in the video you won't understeer and can safely make the turn)

PS: I don't say SHIFT is a real simulator but, at least on the PC, it's close enough for me... I just wished they would had implemented total damage (Able to continue to drive after hitting a wall with 200km/u is sooooo stupid)

Nice thread.

I know that I declared Shift a simulator because it was much more immersive that GT5P and handled more closely to real world counterparts. Like the 0-60 setup that was just posted on AutoBlog.

I also found cars to be well planted if you didn't try trailbraking and took the turns more carefully then I would have in ProStreet or GT5P. I raced the 'Works' Lotus Elise and it loved corners. It just didn't have a very good top speed. The Ford GT also was planted in the corners if you didn't push it too hard and came into the corner slower than I would have done in a game.

But if I pushed too hard I found that the back end just liked to come out from behind me like it would if I was driving one of the show cars at work.

I hope that you find a program to do more video with RJ.
