(WHY LEAVE OUT PC VERSION )WHY CAN'T THE DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT BE THE SAME FOR ALL CONSOLES.

I really don't know why you guys at EA can't just release new content for all consoles.
I'm a PC gamer and I know there are a lot of PC gamers that play NFS-SHIFT.
First you released the Ferrari Pack for the xbox360 not for PC or PS3 and Second you release the exotic racing series
for both Xbox360 AND PS3 not for PC. Why are you guys skipping the PC version of NFC-SHIFT. I know people that have this game on Xbox360 and PS3 that don't play it any more, because they wanted a better car selection and a lot of NFS-SHIFT PC gamers that are always playing it.
All We want is for you guys to make downloadable content for all consoles, ALL CONSOLES (XBOX360 , PS3, AND PC)
You'll made a good game for hardcore racers, don't mess that up by trying to be different.

D pad steering on NFS shift

I find it amazing that the developers have overlooked the option to use the d pad for steering. I mean why? Why would you want to limit your potential audience and sales by missing out such a simple control option? I've been using the stick to steer and whilst i can do it to a certain degree i don't find it much fun, quite irritating actually. Three of my friends refuse to buy this game because of it. Shame really cos it's a beautiful game and it would be by far the best racing game on the Xbox if it wasn't for such a silly omission.

Oh WHY CANT YOU JUST DO IT EA?!

WHY??? TELL ME WHY?
Why do you guys at EA have to make things so damn complicated?? Why don't you use your brains for once? I mean year after year for the last like 5 years you try to revive Need For Speed, you try this and that in order to make the games good, in order to profit. you try a hell of a lot of stuff in order to make a good game, and always seek new ideas, complicating it even more....look. WHY CANT YOU JUST DO THE MOST LOGICAL THING? Just look at your forums.

I mean...Every single topic here, every single topic on EA UK forums, every single NFS video on damn youtube, every single time NFS is mentioned EVERY-FREAKING-ONE GOES ON AND ON ABOUT HOW NFS WAS ONCE GOOD!!!!

JUST LISTEN FOR ONCE ITS SO DAMN EASY ITS JUST UNDER YOUR BIG NOSE!!!

EVERY SINGLE TOPIC HAS CLASSIC AND UNDERGROUND FANS OF THE NFS WORLD GOING ON AND ON HOW THEY WANT THEIR GAMES BACK!

So, dear Electronic Arts, why don't you simply, please, pretty please, pretty sweet damn please listen to us for once AND JUST RELEASE 2 NEW NFS GAMES NEXT YEAR!!!!

OF course:

HOT PURSUIT 3 & UNDERGROUND 3 :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

EA/Black Box, stop trying so hard...

EA or the studio itself, FAILED with NFS: Shift. The game is quite good, don't get me wrong, but it is, in simple words, a extremely watered down version of Gran Turismo.

Please developers, go back to your roots. NFS Underground and MW were the most popular, but not the best. The best racing arcade game ever created is called NFS Hot Pursuit 2. That's the father of Most Wanted.

Here's what EA did:

After Hot Pursuit, Black Box decided to think outside the "box." And came up with Underground (mainly due to the fact that Fast and Furious, giving them the opportunity to experiment with the NFS franchise).

Underground was a total success. Boom! Underground 2 followed, being another success. Then EA/Blackbox said, "Hmmm, what now? Another Underground?" Of course not. They went back, way back. But didn't exactly go back. What they did, was this: Hot Pursuit + Undeground = Most Wanted = Best NFS game after the sixth generation consoles (or after Hot Pursuit 2).

And of coruse it was another succes, so they decided to do the same thing the did with Undeeground 2. But instead of renaming it as Most Wanted 2, the decided to name it Carbon. Interestingly, it's the same thing; with cops, free-roaming, same protagonists, etc. but its at night, and we are going back to street racing. Not as succesful as Most Wanted, but did pretty good. But now what? Black Box is tired of the same thing, so now what?

Here's where comes the trouble. I don't know who the hell, got the idea of turning the Need for Speed franchise into a **@# real driving simulator. That's automatic fail. I am picturing the guy/girl or the group of stupids that said "Hey, what about if we make the game more realistic? More like professional driving." Of course, they went in this direction, but they knew that by going into this direction completely, would mean: bye cops, by high speed racing, bye pursuits, bye adrenaline-fueled racing, bye car customization, bye storyline, etc. So they decided to add (and poorly I must say) the "street" side to the game (hence pro-street). But that just made it fail even more. Because the game didn't really do good at neither side. Damn.

So the person or the group that proposed the creation of pro-street is now sitting thinking in the conference room, tallking about the next NFS project:

"Ok, that didn't work, we should go back to the basics." Yup, back to the basics. Or more like back to Most Wanted. And here it comes: NFS: Undercover, the biggest ATROCITY EA could ever conceive (and it was the NFS with the longest development, seriously??). And yes, it failed completely. The only thing that you could praise about it, was the graphics, but still. The game its pretty much Most Wanted on steroids (not necessarily a good thing).

So THAT didn't work. So the person or the group says in the next meeting about the next NFS project:

"Ok, we failed at making a watered down, mainstream, and incredibly easy version of Most Wanted, now what?"
"Hey, remember that Porstreet didn't work because we tried to blend street racing with professional?"
"Uh, yeah."
"How about, we focues on creating a completely professional NFS game, like a simulator."
"You mean like Gran Tursimo?"
"Yeah"
"Hmm, but we must attract the masses, people think that NFS is a fast-paced racing game, we can't have such a racidal change, unless we bring something appealing."
"OH, how about if we focus on the driver's view of the race, that ought to attract the masses."
"Good idea."

Yup, GREAT idea.

Is this what NFS has turned into? A shape-shifting franchise? Where no one knows what type of game will come out next year? What is gonna be the next NFS game about, a watered down version of F-Zero? And what bout the watered down version of Gran Tursimo? Do you know the amount of work and time it requires to make a REAL and COMPLETE driving simulator? 2 years? Gran Turismo 5 is going to have more than 1,000 cars, and it has been in development for more than 5 years! GTFO Black Box. Leave the real simulator to the pro's like Sony and Yamauchi.

Leave us with a fun racing game that, for example, I can play with my lilttle cousin, where he can play as the cop, and he has to chase me (Hot Pursuit 2) at mind-blowing speeds. Stop the free-roaming-I-am-GTA stuff (Why the hell do I have free-roaming if I have a damn map where I can just select and go the the event? Enlighten me). Stick to arcade, of course, next-gen arcade. You know what I'm saying?? Go back to your damn roots Black Box/ EA, stop experimenting, stop trying so hard and do stuff that will sell. Jesus.....

Just my (and possibly our) two cents....

an NFS for every fan

Ive noticed alittle bit of a battle on. one crowd wants a return to the Ps1 days of supercars, no storylines, and no illegal streeting. another side wants the death of the exotics and a retuen to underground, IE: total ghetto, cop race, rap , tuning and illegality.

ive noticed myself, that, although the new NFS games are still brilliant fun, combining both types, ghettos and supercars, just doesn't work that well. so, why not launch 5! NFS games in the same year (poss 2011?) i know it will mean bigger inital outlay for EA, but, think of the massive profits!

the ideas ive had are.
1. for the Underground crowd: NFS Underground 3: Deadwatwer city. this is pure street racing, street speak, tons of cops, a story about a no good kid from the wrong side of the tracks who makes his way to the top of the illegal scene, JDM hatches, loads of tuning, the rap soundtrack etc. just what the underground fans have asked for. now note, if you want this idea expanded on, then i'd prefer it if one of you did it, the "street scene" just isnt my thing.

2. for the kids/ Casual Crowd. NFS: N20. Nitro 2 basically, the same as nitro one, a hybrifd of NFS and kart racer, just with more locations, more cars, and a Ps2 port.

3. for the Most Wanted fans: NFS State. Like most wanted, its a full free roam game with tuning, JDM imports, supercars, street racing, auto gangs, police chases, undercover work, etc. but with a massive blacklist (possibly 200?) and a huge play area, not just a city, but a whole state ccovering a couple thousand square miles, cities, freeways, small towns, mountain passes, etc, each with its own culture, and matching blacklist racers. the story should be about a police officer whos wife was killed in an accident involving the number one blacklist driver, he's left the force and gone rougue, working alongside his fomrer partner who keeps him informed of what the police are up to, he plans to take down the blacklist one by one, knowing that if he gets inside, he can nail all of them. that is until they hire some protection, police cheif turned mercenary, adam cross. music is naturally Rap, rock, and techno. of course, if you dont like those genres, you can turn them off. or even put youre own music in.

4. for the shift fans: Need for speed. WORLD TOUR. very similar to shift, just with far more cars, and a list of tracks that is entirely liscenced, no pathetic wastes of disk space such as hazyview, just tons of real world courses like Monza, the Nordschleife, SPA and of course the circuit de le sarf, mixing both street cars such as the porsche carrerra GT, with BONAFIDE racing cars, like the classic 962-c. music will be fusion rock.

and finally, for the old school fan: NFS; Real Cars, Real fast. a Homage to the past, probably a one off, but a return to the glory days. no tuning or free roam. instead a huge list of massive courses (up to 1k miles per lap) through glourious environments, the return of the showroom mode, a massive list of cars, ranging from hot hatchbacks like the audi s3 (minimal 200 horsepower) through ,muscle cars, to sports cars, supercars, ultra exotics, to the fastest production cars on earth. music, naturally will be european techno, with callista by saki kaskas, the best tune in road challenge (and one of the only tunes to make my cry with joy), returning as the games theme tune, even ressurecting the classic "stylised S" version of the NFS logo from the ps1 era. if its openly advertised as a retro experience, im sure people will be willing to look past the lack of cop chases (not fetured) lack of story (i just want to bomb supercars arpound mountains!), and lack of free roam and tuning as its not meant to keep up with the latest crowd, just be a peice of classic high powered entertainment with the soul of a ps1 game, wrapped up in a HD package. who knows, with 5 other need for speeds that cater more towards the tuner, story, street race scene, people may be more accpeting of an old school NFS game on top as a clasy, beutifully made "unique game". as it would be somethign different as every game is offering tuning and street racing now. NFSU was well accepted for being so "different" to the games of its time, so a classic NFS may get the same view now every game takes the NFSU style approach.

well those are the ideas. tell me what you think of them, i hope you like them.

if you want to expand on the first 4, go ahead, as long as you start seperate threads, as long as you credit me with the title, im more than happy to let you create youre perfect nfs game with them. in fact, with the underground one, as i know NOTHING about the "street" scene, or for that matter, street speak, ill NEED you to work on that one.

the only one i will personally work with the communioty to flesh out is Real Cars, Real Fast. although, ill see if theres any interested parties before i start the thread.

thanks for youre time, i hope you like the ideas, who knows, Ea could make some of them if we expand on them enough?

PLEASE add game and platform info to signature...

I'm surprised that the moderators haven't asked you all to do this, yet, but there is SO much confusion on these forums because of differences between platforms, bugs that vary from console to PC versions, different games, and the fact that each platform has ONLY its' own users to race with, that it would be good to know what anyone is using before we start to reply with information that isn't relevant to them.

SO....

If you don't mind, how about adding your platform and controller (and your game, for non-Shift players) to your signature, like I have?

Don't know where to edit your 'signature'? It is in 'My Profile', at the top of the thread

Now, anyone sees me post, they already know I'm not PC or XBox, and they know if on a PS3 playing Shift, and they can message me about races, reply to questions, etc., and they aren't wasting their time...

How about it, all...? 8)

Supra addon pack

I know that they made a huge mistake by not introducing the MKIV Supra into the car list of NFS: Shift (and they know it :-) :D), but as a Supra owner I feel dissapointed that the only option available to use the car in the game is through teamplay. Is it possible that they could make an addon that we can download the car pack which would include the Toyota Supra as a career mode option (not just for online game use).

Any thoughts on the topic or is this not a possibility?

Cheers,
SIC.

Nordschleife

Disclaimer: I'm not sure if any of the devs of nfs actually read the forums, but I was currious and I figured someone else might know if they don't.
I was curious why Nordschleife is separated the way it is in the game. I would have thought that it would have made the most sense to split it up into three parts starting from the original start line(the start line that you have when you race the whole track)? It just seems like they just randomly divided the track. The main reason I'd like it start at the original start line is because I would like the straight section to be one of the three sub categories of Nordschleife.
