1Gb ATI Radeon HD3400 series

I presume to know nothing about computers, so any help in 'English Speak' not 'Computer Speak' would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Having read this thread, I told my son to try putting all the graphics settings to high, as we had set them low, and now he is racing!!!! HOWEVER, it is not right, it is all a bit jerky and slow, but I am making progress I guess.
It keeps asking him to login to EA to do certain things, but how do you do that, without shutting down the game??
Thanks again.

Tell you what guys, I would like to troubleshoot thoroughly with each of you, but this thread is getting out of hand and is hard to follow with all the clutter.

If each of you that are having a problem could create a separate post, that would be much better. Please post your Windows version, basic PC specs if you have them, and as much info about your problem as you can think of. Don't leave anything out even if it seems insignificant to the problem.

wow, i've found yet another " What a POS this game is thread"

there seems to be a handful of forum users here, that actually support EA and this game, while the rest have signed up to troubleshoot or complain about it not working...i am of the latter.

i'd just like to say, fkuc you EA for all you efforts, fkuc you very much.

But, after much pain and hassle, I JUST NEGOTIATED A REFUND !!!

I think we all just got shifted by need for speed lol j/k I feel they are aware of the problems and will fix, in time.
I just hope they do before xmas or there are going to be so many more people in here its going to get very full of people looking for answers.
Some how I think even with a new patch this game will still not work for me, but I hope it does.
I read on other blogs EA Games put spyware on your PC recording the websites you go to for advertising, has anyone else heard about this?

For your information, most people who have posted in this thread are of the opinion that the game generally runs well for them. So next time read through the entire thread before deciding what the general subject of the thread is. You won't seem so ignorant.

And also please don't bother trying to bypass the language filters. Swearing is still swearing even if it's misspelled. And that's a violation of the terms of service.

Where is "The demo runs fine graphically on the computer I could run ProStreet on, but the CPU isn't entirely up to it and the demo runs slowly, so I had to use a different computer to try the demo"? lol

As I have posted previously the game runs flawlessly for me but with a couple of minor bugs. I to get the grass growing on the track which I see is down to be fixed. The other day I was driving one of the Nissans can't remember which model and when changing gear from 3rd to 4th it sometimes felt as if you were changing from 3rd to 5th.

I would have to say that by now, everyone knows that there are some flaws in this game (SHIFT).

Yes this game runs on my PC. It didn't at first, but was mainly a sound card problem that once I had figured it out, was soon forgotten as I got into some really great racing action.

The sounds and the graphics blow me away.

I also enjoy the race track environment over the street-racing of past NFS efforts.

Well, I just completed this game on the Easy level. It's time to move on up now I guess...lol. Anyway, I just wanted to put in my .02 Here are the only issues I had with the hours, and hours of playing this game on my PC.

1. I had the "lost Career" issue happen one time. I don't know why, but as others have stated, it showed my car, but I was only allowed to create a New Career. Luckily I had a backup of 95% of my progress.

2. Yes, I did experience the "grass" issue.

3. On replays, my Logitech Momo wheel would move. I don't know if this issue has been addressed before or not, but I thought I would bring it up.

Other than that, the game played as I expected it to. I had NO CRASHES, and NO LOCKUPS of any sort. I have current Norton Ghost images of both XP, and Vista Ultimate that I would occasionally flip-flop between, just to compare the game's characteristics to see if there was an advantage of using one OS over the other. I saw absolutely no difference in FPS, loading times, etc.

My PC specs are listed below in my signature. I just don't understand how so many people could be having issues with this game, if their PCs are greatly exceeding the minimum system requirements for this game? I dunno guys, but for me personally, this game is a godsend from the "arcade-like" EA racing games that have come out in the past 8 or so years. I give it an 8/10.

Some players will have different taste's in racing games, which you all know by now (or should for that matter), if anyone has problems they'll sign-up and post (a no brainer lol), yes people will say how they feel towards this game but they're speaking their mind and thoughts (freedom of speech anyone), not all will have problems with this game however but doesn't mean they're not going to at all (to me, they're random and will happen at anytime).

@ jasonp312009

The only person on this page (the page i'm posting on) thats brought up the idea of making a thread about troubleshooting everyones problems would be you plus your offering to help hence bringing it up.

@ Philofish

I'm not too sure but what wont EA do or how far will they go to do something like that. Your best bet is to read the somewhat manual of this game all the way through and again, read the back of the game case for such things, if nothing is stated what so ever then you could always ask someone from EA (if you can find them on here), or ask on other forums or blogs about it.

If nothing both in the manual and back of game case at all and they're doing it, then it wont look good for EA will it.

1st of all, it should be stated both in the manual and on the back of the game case (so the user knows of such a thing) to be legal. I shouldn't need to say anything else regarding this i think.

@ 3342976352

No one has 100% the same hardware, software, plug-in hardware or even using the same os (xp, vista, win 7 or any sp's for either) whether they have x86 or x64 versions. As i've noted above, to me they're random and can or will happen.

@Philofish

Undercover had geographic sensing software that allowed a set of advertisements to be targeted towards you depending on what region of the world you lived in. I.E. Vote for Sarah Palin/John McCain ads if you lived in continental United States.

This function was shutoff for certain regions due to legalities that didn't permit it's use. There was most certainly no instance of the software test bedded in Britain that checked what other sites you were visiting and targeting advertisements based upon that information.

I don't know if that software was carried over because it's illegal to advertise based upon location in Canada. Although regional software filtering is used to prevent Canadians from watching videos not licenced for broadcast in Canada. I.E. BBC iPlayer use.

My PC crashes with half the cars. It won't show several cars in the garage and when you need to drive one in the career events, the game freezes when loading the track.
If someone drives a "problem car" in online mode, the game freezes when the timer hits 0:01 to go racing...

Maybe I nee to repair the game again...
