Maybe the "fix" on the other thread on this forum works: http://forum.needforspeed.com/eaforum/posts/list/333875.page. I'm going to try that to, don't know if you installed it on another partition but I have so maybe that's the problem for me to.

I Installed Shift from physical media, launch the program, configure my controller and start a career. It goes into the intro script and gets to the part where it telss me it has secured a car for the test run; it then loops back to the beginning of the intro script. Nothing I can do gets me out of this loop, other than ALT-TAB and kill the program.
I tried the chat support and they alleged it was a saved file problem. Heh, I have never been able to play the game. I went along with it and removed the save files and started over. No such luck.

The game runs but where the road should be I see only flashing colors, like strob lighting in a night club. lol very very disapointed in EA Games. Reading other blogs I found my Radeon HD 4890 and NFS S%$t do not get on. One of the people in support said (they are nice) that the reason was because NFS S%$t came out before Vista came out lol WTF!?! lol I am looking here everyday, waiting for the patch lol reminds me of my old commador64 days lol Wolfenstine runs better than this game lol
I have PS3, Xbox360 and Gaming PC. I thought purchasing this game on PC would be better than the PS3, better graphics etc boy was I wrong! but it sounds like you guys are having problems too.
At E3 2009 this game looked fantastic, what happened?

Alright here's comes the most Weird OMG sensation of the day. If you have trouble playing the Dvd version of need for speed shift on Windows 7, activate it on the EA download manager, and you can play it without errors...Definitly weird but ir really works...I also had it with RA3, same problem, same solution

Well, I have had 4 encounters with the support chat, the last one saying they will refer me to a senior support tech.
Remove the graphics config and save file and retry....NOT
Run in Win98/ME Compatability Mode.....NOOOOOP
Uninstall and Reinstall using a new administrative user and patch it up....NOTHING YET
Lower the Desktop Resolution (which doesn't actually change the game resolution)....BAAH
What happens is I when I start career, I get the intro clip driving through the tunnel with the "The best Drivers" voiceover.
I get to the part where the voice over tells me it has secured a car for brandshatch and the voiceover says "Let's get out there".
It then loops back to the beginning of the intro clip driving through the tunnel. Infinite loop.
Provided a dxdiag in an earlier copy of this. Cut most of it it from this one

I Installed Shift from physical media, launch the program, configure my controller and start a career. I tried the chat support and they alleged it was a saved file problem. Heh, I have never been able to play the game. I went along with it and removed the save files and started over. No such luck.
try removing the graphics config in save file, and while your at it...attach your dx diag please.

Thank you for trying but I still get flashing colors where the sky and road should be.
I have tried 20 times rebooting etc, differant settings, xp,95,98 no DEP like everyone suggested.
I will just have to wait for the patch.
I purchased the game on Amazon.USA as I live in AUS I cannot return with out cost and more out of pocket expense.
Trust me I will not be buying any more games from Amazon again.

I posted earlier about this odd endless loop in the intro clip to starting a career and the lack of help by chat tech support. The home PC was running VISTA and was compliant with the minimums.
I tried installing it on my work laptop which is running XP but also meets the minimums from a HW perspective. I get the same exact behavior. it shows the intro clip and right after it says "Let's get out there" it loops back to the beginning of the intro clip and the tunnel scene.
I wonder if I have flawed physical media.
However, I can't figure out how to download an electronic copy using the EA Download Manager. In theory I am able to, but I can't figure that out.
Any suggestions?

Hmmm...I don't understand why you guys are having so many issues. I originally installed it on XP, and had no issues. I also had a Ghost image of Vista Ultimate, so I loaded the game on Vista just to see if I would have any problems. No problems whatsoever. It runs just as good, if not better on Vista as it did on XP. Also, the Force Feedback for my Momo wheel seems to work better in Vista. I dunno guys.

I just bought it today for my boy, and he is well upset as it doesn't work. I get what so many others seem to get. It loads and goes through the intro, but as soon as you are about to start playing it crashes to desktop.
My system:
AMD Athlon X2
2Gb RAM
120Gb HD
1Gb ATI Radeon HD3400 series
I presume to know nothing about computers, so any help in 'English Speak' not 'Computer Speak' would be greatly appreciated.
