I don't know if this has been discussed but I'll throw it out there anyway. I have found that if you turn off steering assist drifting is much easier. I noticed early on that if I started a drift and then let go of the controls, the car would automaticly counter-steer out of the drift. For example, If I start turning right, slide the back end out, I should then turn to the left to keep from doing a 360 and maintain the drift. At this point if I let go of the controller, the steering wheel on the game should center, BUT it doesn't. The game steers to the right. What sense does that make? I turned off steering assist and it no longer does this. I can maintain a much longer drift now. Maybe this is just another bug to add to the list. It seems stupid to have fight the steering assist to maintain a drift, but it appear that this is whats happening. anyone else notice/try this? Maybe I should try with all assists off.

Ok...i was wrong about one thing. The steering assist tries to steer into the drift for you, which is fine if you just want to watch your car drift. I just did some testing with steering assist.
London Millenium
RX-7
Steering assist on=around 700 pts. per lap avg over 6 laps
Steering assist off=around 1200 pts per lap avg over 6 laps
Maybe its just me but I think it makes a big difference.

Try setting ur car up to full oversteering for drifting that should help to stop it from trying to turn out while in dirfts. fr some reason the drift physics are glitched and if u leave ur steering at normal it oversteers
but anyways i use steering assists but i have all others turned off and find it works good if the cars not stock or upgraded but with no tune
try setting ur front camber to 3.5-2.5 and ur rear to 2 degrees lower then ur front camber
Add alil downforce to the rear of the car if your having troubles with the car spinning also
u should notice an improvment in grip and steering response through the corners with those changes and a car that feels natural and doesnt push either on you

That is much easier without steering assist. I get WITHOUT steering assist some around 1 500pts as one round and steering assist on 1 200pts.

thats some pretty good scores there
check the xbox leaderboards on here for london
I scored just over 3000 with a basically stock rx-7 with steering assist on and using that setup i meantion'd earlier with the only upgrade being level one suspension so i could give it a basic tune, the leaderboards count per single round not your score after all 3
Im sure theres more then one way around this though as i regulary talk and play with MR MONKEY BAWS(uses pro no assits on stock tires and suspension but everything else upgraded and a totaly different tune to mine) and LeGeNdgary323(uses works cars to drift and once again a different tune) and both are as high if not higher on some tracks so it really is more down to what suits your style the best

I do pretty good with my S2000 that has every upgrade except stock tires and no wider tires/wheels.
As far as tuning goes i don't do much, Front tire pressure all the way to the left (26.09) and Rear tire pressure all the way to the right (41.45).
Assists:
Steering Assist - Low
Anti-lock brakes - Off
Traction Control - Off
Stability control - Off
Those settings work well for me as I'm ranked 51 for the best drift score at Spa, 74 at Hazyveiw 8, and 59 at Tokyo on the PS3 high scores.
