Hello ,
I bought NFS Shift 2 days ago and installed it without any problem.But when i try to start game it says Shift.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.Looked around forum but couldn't find that many solution about this.
OS is WinXP 32bit.
Hardware :
Gigabyte MA790FXT-UD5P Motherboard
Radeon 4870 1gb GPU
AMD Phenom II X4 810 CPU
OCZ 1666Mhz 4gb Dual kit and so on so on...
All drivers are up to date , i can't see any reason not to work.
Help me please.

I have the same problem with the Demo of Shift, soon as I launch the game it immediately crashes with "shiftdemo.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" etc. Ive tried all the compatibility modes but nothing works and have the latest drivers installed for my hardware.
Win XP 32bit / X2 4800+ dual core cpu / 2gb ram / EVGA GTX 260 / X-Fi audio.
All other games I have work great so this is definitely an issue with Shift.

Thanks for answers.
I couldn't even see game yet.It's not working , when i try to launch game on desktop , my computer hangs for few seconds like it is going to work then error pops up and says blablabla...

I don't get as far in the demo - my laptop just pops up a black window and closes it - that's all.

There are a few bugs I have encountered in shift. They include:
- patch #1 ruined my save game, now when i load my profile I have the same car I had tuned up and all the money but only allowed to start new career. If I start new career, I am unable to buy a new car on this profile as my garage is full.
- My latest race in tier 3 seemed to never end. The timer does not start and I had done quite a few laps (not an endurance race) and the timer still read 00:00.
- Some selected cars in the menu do not show their preview, just a blank showroom
Any help much appreciated. I have tried re-installing the game and replacing the savegame with my backup but to no avail.

Mine just reboots the machine if I do too many races, like 3-4 races. ( So I exit game and let gpu cool a bit )
Patch speeded up load times nicely though.
Still get things like the sky is missing sometimes, next race on same track is fine.
Sometimes get interesting things like floating grass above the track and inside the car ( again this
is usually fine next time )
Enjoyed hearing the guy telling me what a great win I'd just had, after I lost a race 
WinXP 3sp ( 32bit )

Mine enters in the menu, but when I select Start Career it shows me the career intro movie and then it hangs with music still playing in the background.
Specs: Macbook Pro 13" Intel P8700 2.53Ghz 4GB DDR3 Nvidia 9400M

Head over to http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx_9.09.0814.html and download and install. right click Shift.exe compatibility - for windows 98/me and game should run.

Help me!! I have the NFS Shift and it always after the ¨if you want to race, take it to the...¨ part comes an announcement that ¨Need for Spped Shift has stopped working¨ and such. I've tried everything that i've found from anywhere and nothing has worked. I also think that my Vista fills all the requirements. HELP!!

Hi
Mine too, tried everything... updated drivers, updated Directx, deleted save-game files, compatibility on 98 and XP. Ive got an ATI Radeon HD 3450, Vista 32bit.
Has anyone any idea if we can download a patch to solve this?????

Anyone having problems with SHIFT loading fine to the main menu but crashing upon actually starting a race, whether Career, Quick Race or whatever, should take a look at this thread: http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/330642.page as the crash may be related to PhysX.
