ATI PROBLEM

Anyone having problems with ATI graphics cards? I have severe stuttering with a hd4850 (almost in every corners, or when I have other cars in front of me), on an AMD x2 5600+ 4gb ram. vista x64, 9.9, 9.8,9.7...etc. catalyst drivers...

Aplied all kind of drivers, uninstaled PHYSX, changed graphic settings, even to the lowest ones...aplied AMD Fusion, changed compatibility mode, instaled DirectX...no major improvements.

I had the same problem.
Easy to fix.
Catalyst 9.9 are out, just update your Driver.
Now, everything runs smoothly.

it's not an ATI prob.

i am running XP, geforce 9800GTX+ and i had to play with my 3D settings in the nvidia control panel to stop it from getting black screen when u take control of the vehicle, then sometihng even worse starts happening, game crashes back to desktop and cant work out how to fix it. i have tried everything and am really pissed.

installing it on WIN7 now i will find out if it is the same shortly and let use kow

well, never mind.
after two minutes, fps started to drop again...
Nice work EA.
I suspect PhysX to be the problem here.

I agree with PhysX being too blame, but who knows until EA decide to FIX it, and tell us what the issue is with...

I've got a Radeon HD3870 and can't play the game decently even with extra low settings.

You Think Catalyst 9.9 can work this out ?

Ok i'll give it a try and report my results... although i'v read that 9.9 are slower than any other recent catalyst.

I'm running win7 64 bit and an ati 4870, game runs flawlessly all maxed...

I am running cat 9.9.

Don't listen to people saying newer drivers are "slower" they are talking out of their *, always use latest drivers.

Same problem here! I have an AMD 9550, 4 GB Ram, ATI 4870 and Vista Ultimate 64. The framerate really sucks no matter what I´m doing. I even tried 1440x900 without AA and everything set to medium, but no success...
I hope there is a fix coming soon!

Tokyo is fine for me, 60 fps like all the other tracks.

just look this video.
Framerate is stable.
I just tried the same track, without opponents, I had horrible fps drops.
So I don't know anymore...

Odd, I have played it plenty of times with no problems at all.
