ok heres my selection
Family Car: either BMW 760i or Mercedes S600. Both have extreme comfort and luxury
Wife Car: Probably a Mini or something like that
My Car 1: McLaren F1, prolly still is one of if not still the best supercar ever made and thats my personal opinion
My Car 2: Saleen S7 Twin Turbo. Awesome looks, Damn fast and sure to turn heads as you drive past people.

For the family, a Jeep Cherokee SRT8
For the wife, a Dodge Charger SRT8
My car 1: A Hennessey Venom Viper 1000 (so when the wife makes me mad, I can shut her up with a V-10.)
Second car: A Saleen S7 Twin Turbo.
I'd probably trade in my house(s) to get these cars. lol

Hrm. someone said they would put 30 grand into a Mark 2 Golf. Seems like a lot of money to spend on a Golf.
My list:
For kicking around town with my hot wife:
Porsche 718 RSK converted to Electric with Tesla Powerplant.
As a fun car for me and the girlfriend:
Wrightspeed X1
For the family and/or outings with the wife AND the girlfriend... and possibly a cute hitchhiker...:
1967 VW 23 window Deluxe with Tesla Powerplant and Diesel Turbine generator AWD converted. 1-2 inch chop top and fully custom interior. Possible color options - black and red. Black cherry or classic white and blue with pine accents.
Sadly, I have neither the cars nor the girls. 
I fully intend to buy a full electric for my next car though if possible.
If I need to get something before that is available in my area, I'll probably look for a 1994 Honda Civic Hatchback with Vtec. Preferably not heavily modded, but with some decent rims and lowered about an inch or so.
