I'm having launch issues with the viper in quick race mode. (Never tried it in career.) Same problem as others have mentioned. Car just sits there when the race starts. No response from the throttle. Revs fine before the green light or if you disengage the clutch. I did have it working when I first bought it, but after some tuning it now doesn't work, even if I reset to default tuning settings.

Logitech G25 using seperate pedals preset configuration. Works fine on all other cars I've tried. Haven't tested the Corvette.

After some experimenting I think I understand what is causing their "lauch" problem.
Some cars are incorrectly looking at the "custom tune" files for parameters, when in fact you have not even upgraded or custom tuned the car, and the "custom gear ratios" will be zero for all gears.
If you a have PC game based on gMotor2 such as rFactor, you can allow for custom settings based on upgrades with special [Sections] in ini files - when you screw up and call a gear file with not ratiosn or too tall ratios set, your car wont launch - not enough torque to turn the wheels.
The fix fro the launch issue on Shift does seem to be to reset back to "Easy Tunign" this seems to redirect ALL cars to get physics values from the default car files instead of fetchign sections from tuning files.
I believe the "failure to launch" and "bouncing" issues are related and will be able to be fixed at the same time.

problems with lots of cars. Mainly the viper. Today me and a friend set up an online race at Dakota and it maxed out at 182ish which is what im expecting. About an hour later me and another friend went in a server i started, he had the bugatti and i had the viper again, my car wouldnt move. Tried 2 more times and the same thing happened. We quit, then he started the server, i was able to move....but maxed out at 160. Next race, same track, maxed out at 155.
The car was tuned with quick tuning, so i set it back to default then tried again...still only get 160. The quick tuning is screwing everything up in the advanced tuning. Even after u default the quick tuning, advanced stays all screwy. Same deal with the vette not moving...me and 2 friends were racing, one had the lambo, me and the other had the vette and neither of ours would move at start.
Another...I started multiplayer and 4 random people joiined three with tier 3 cars...2 vettes, 1 mustang...the other guy had the zonda. he was able to race and all 3 of us were stuck at start.
I only really drive the vette and viper...tried a few others like the tier 2 skyline and tier 3 GTR's...seem a lot slower than i'd imagine they should be compared to other cars.

Bouncing bug - somewhat cured by tuning: I set both fast rebound rates to max stiff (fixes bouncing on some cars like works Camaro SS).
Better grip - (not a bug, but might as well include it here): For tuning in general, I set tire pressures to 30psi, or maybe 29psi (note the Zonda R defaults to about 27psi). I haven't tried to optimize this.

I have the PC Version and I get the bounces on some tracks, Laguna Seca for example while driving a cruddy old porche & I also get the No launch glitches at any track with the Viper & the Chevy Z06.
I also get the tune-ups not sticking & changing.
Also the Full works tune actually de-tunes some of the cars settings.
Plus a friend has SHIFT on console & whoever labeled the over-steer & under-steer got the two concepts mixed up because they work completely the opposite to what they are supposed to do. In other words Trend Setters if you want your car to over-steer set it to under-steer & to get it to under-steer you have to set it to over-steer
It's a crying shame too because this is the best NFS release since Most wanted. It would have been a winner for EA and put the NFS title back at the top of arcade games if the developers & Testers had not cut corners on Quality Control.
EA YOU HAD BETTER PATCH IT QUICK or loose thousands, because the internet & word of mouth is quick. I have already counted about 15 punters who won't be buying it only because of the glitches & negative reviews, (and I don't get around the net all that much) but still,, if you multiply that amount on a worldwide scale we are talking about big numbers here who will not be buying the game because it is broken.

FOR PS3 somtimes when you use dodge viper in race or drift it is stuck on track will not move and one of the bmw did the same thing but the viper does it most of the time so i never use it you have to quit the race and try again this happens on or offline.
Yup PC user. Viper Launch issue, haven't tried with Corvette. Modified or not it occaisionally does it. ALSO NOTED - STUFFS AROUND WITH MY GEAR SETTINGS - I wanted to see the top speed of the viper (works tune default, redlining @ 265kmh, 900hp, will do more) So i upped the final drive ratio and gears to the speed end of the slider. Tried it, launch stick. Thought it might have just been clutch slip or whatever u guys have that means i have to shift the '72 Works Modified GTR slower than my real car (whats up with that clutch slip anyway? if a car had been modified to that extent, it would have a clutch that could handle a hard launch or two, and quick shifts)
So i went to move the gear settings back a notch and, it had ALREADY CHANGED MY SETTINGS, i have also noted that IF I SET ALL THE GEARS AND FINAL RATIOS TO MAX SPEED, then DRIVE (or get glued to start line) And then do a restart, it DEFAULTS BACK TO THE WORKS TUNE 265KMH default ratios (Viper 6th geat works default VMAX). Something weird going on there. Hope this info helps
