TUNE the car kid's
^This guy clearly does not grasp the concept that Invitational Races do not allow you to tune the cars. They are preset cars given to you.^ The developers simply tuned them retardedly.
Actually..
I'm playing SHIFT on PS3 and every change I make on the car I'm currently using, translates to the cars in the Invitational Races. When I set the front and rearwing settings to maximum grip on my Porsche Cayman to try and keep it on the road(only tested if this would help on the bouncing.. no such luck), the Carrera GT only goes 220km/h on the long straigt after eau rouge in SPA.
And I too have the bouncy car problem. You can not drive the eau rouge with the Carrera GT at speed greater than 80 or you start skipping at the bottom of the corner and fly to the wall.. And I do mean fly. Never seen that happen in a driving game before..
How on earth could they release a game with this big of a problem? Didn't EA test it at all before it going on sale?

I'm glad I found this post. It was driving me nuts that Carrera GT race. Couldn't get up through Eau Rouge with any speed, AI had no problems, no bouncing. All this on the PS3 version.
Cars are like a rubber ball going along the pavement, except they don't stop bouncing 'till they crash.
Only some cars, on some corners.
GT3 RS used to be great, fully tuned it gets the bouncing bug bad. Tried suspension, nothing helps.
This is a show-stopping, race-ending, game-quitting bug. I don't usually report these things, but this one is bad.

PS3
Just spent 4 hours tuning and detuning a works GT500 to see if I could get rid of the bouncing but to no avail.
I did manage to change the severity so it's obviously a part of the physics programming that has not been QA'd.
I would like to play the game and progress but atm it's just too frustrating so for now I'll play something else

On top of all these listed bugs, in Quick Race->Drift, there is absolutely no engine noise at all. This is the PS3 version btw.

Can you guys give us an idea of a release date for a patch to address these issues? I hope this patch also includes reworked physics models for many of the cars, because some feel pretty realistic, while others handle bizzarely, like the EVO X, for example. It oversteers in a ridiculous, arcade-like mess every time you turn, followed by terminal understeer. I can tell you, as an EVO X owner, the car does NOT feel like that in real life. Oh, and please re-work the drift physics model while you guys are at it, because it's ridiculous. Rather than have the physics be the same as the rest of the game, it feels totally unnatural and forced. Last question... how did you guys not notice any of this stuff before you released the game?

Yeah I agree with him,,,HOW did you NOT notice????
One more little problem - whenever I tune my car's ride height - I'll go away do a race or whatever and then as soon as I come back I notice that the game has backed off my settings. Well thank you for caring about the underside of my car NFS: Shift, but I can tune it myself, =]
Can you guys please see if you can address this? Address the bouncing issue first though.
Also I noticed my first post was removed...why? I didn't say anything different to what anyone else is saying. I just said what everyone was thinking. And that question about you guys being high...I was curious! Were you? LOL

Oh and, can we please have some more cars available as packs to download? Maybe put out a pack that adds pure-bred race cars? A good pack might include some of the following:
- Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT
- Ferrari FXX (do you guys have a license for Ferrari?)
- Toyota GT One
- Nissan R390 GT1
- McLaren F1 GTR
- Merccedes Benz CLK-GTR
- F1 cars?
- Indy cars?
- Mazda 787B
- Mercedes Benz Sauber C9
- Porsche 911 GT1
Maybe there would be a call for these?

I have the same bouncing problem at my PS3 and XBOX 360 !
Im a gaming professional with over 25 years of experience, and driving games are my
top priority so I know what Im talking about.
I can say I played them all and there is for sure a EXTREME BUG in need for speed shift,
wich makes the game NOT PLAYABLE .
There is no way to tune the problem away , the cars simply have a collision / suspencion bug.
And not... its not the delicate realistic sweet bounce wich you get in 10tacles GTR series... It a BIG UYGLY BUG !
And Im 100% sure that the developers and beta testers know about that problem, otherwise I
cant understand how someone could get 100% in this game.
Every car handles wrong, and as soon as you get a tuned suspension in hope to fix the handling its
getting ever worst.
In my opinion there are three scenarios :
1. The BUG is known within the developer team, but its a major games engine BUG and would cost to much mantime to get rid of, so they trowed this piece of crap on the market.
2. The BUG is know within the developer team, and is beeign worked on and will be fixed with the next patch wich will come within one week, or they will have a big problem . Im 100% sure that as soon as all peopel get to the tier 3 ingame they will be flaming and spaming the forums here...
3. I hope this scenario is the real one, as the two aboue would mean there is no QA at all at EA... So the third scenario is my anti piracy idea... maybe.. to stop leaks and ruin the day of people who download the game, there will be a special patch wich will need a online conection, It will fix just the copios of the game wich look oroginal to the systems ..
But STILL THERE IS A BIG BUG AND I DEMAND A PRESS INFO FROM EA AS SOON AS POSSIBLE ?
Need for speed is getting worst every episode, and SHIFT has the potential to thur the situation around...

Just tested something on the PS3
I quick tunned the Works GT500 and did a T3 Time attack and the bounce was almost gone. Before the end of the first race I restarted the event and low and behold the bounce was back with a vegeance.
It seems that if you restart an event the car setup reverts to default but there's no way to confirm this as you can't access the tuning menu without quiting to the home menu.
I may however be clutching at straws.

Ok guys I've got a short term fix while EA do their thing to get Shift fixed. I've found a few cars that I've had no trouble with. There's a very occasional bounce, but it seems to be more a realistic bounce (like when you go flying over a large rumble strip and get airborne lol) than a glitch. I'm only going off cars that I've actually driven in-game. I hope that it can be a temporary fix for you guys too =] the cars that drive properly are as follows:
Tier 1
- Nissan 200SX S14
Tier 2
- Mazda RX-7
- Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX
- Nissan Silvia S15
- Lotus Elise 111R
Tier 3
- Lamborghini Murcielago LP640
- Lotus Exige S
- Audi R8
Tier 4
- Pagani Zonda R
Now, I've tuned all of these except the Zonda R and have fortunately had no problems. I'm sure there are more that will be fine, and I will post them as I find them, but I just haven't yet. If you guys have problems with any of these cars, I can post the tuning details to see if that will help, I hope for now this can get you your Shift fix until EA sorts out the glitch.
Cheers!

Bouncing issues only happen to me on the Evo. Using PC. The physics is overally okay, but a small number of cars don't handle like they should have in reality.
Fix all the issues we're having please!

Alright guys, I've had a breakthrough. The bouncing problem is not car-specific, nor is it track specific. Don't know what I'm on about?
Ok. Let's take the Porsche Carrera GT. Everyone has had massive problems with it on the Spa track. I have too. So needless to say, I was quite apprehensive about taking it into a tier 4 manufacturer's race against a Merc SLR. I found that on the Silverstone track, the Carrera GT is awesome. It didn't step a foot wrong (it did put the back end out a lot though lol) so I've come to the conclusion that it is car/track specific.
See how you guys go.

LOL I changed from the M3 to the nissan 350 and the nissan bounced so badly it whent up on the rear tires so the only thing I could see when i was going down the kemmel straight at spa was the beautiful sky
how the hell have EA missed this, did they not play the game at all before release,or was it so much panic to release it before Forza Motorsport 3 so they just went a head and released it with lots of buggs in it. well it sucks that it's impossible to play any more before a fix is out
