9.9 just came out before Shift. I guess we'll have to wait either for a hotfix or the next revision... It's really a driver bug and we can't really do anything about it...

i thought all nfs games were running low fps like this so it didn't bother me...

did you guys try playing undercover and prostreet? mine were all 25-30 fps range... and sometimes drops to 12-15...

undercover, with frap video recording going on, it's 6-8fps... while this game, i can manage a 12-14 so it's a step up at least

PS: i have ATI Radeon HD4850

I have a radeon 3870 X2
Settings on med for everything but motion blur.
I found that setting motion blur at high increases the frame rate.
Playing now at 1920x1080 at 28-60 fps, though some tracks at the race start do fall below 28.

Dakota Club is one of the worst fps tracks. I get 12 fps

Dell 630i
Quad Core
ATI 3970 X2
4 GB RAM
Vista 32 sp1

Maybe they did. What are they going to do? Delay the release? Write their own drivers?

Other than tell AMD/ATI and get them to fix their drivers...which appears to be happening, they can't do much else...and at least for those of us getting the game 17th/18th it's not an unknown issue.

It's not a huge thing although it's obviously frustrating. For those with the faster ATI cards it still seems playable to some degree or another. I've watched plenty of gameplay videos from folks with these cards.

For those of us with HD4850, it seems very probable that we're going to get new drivers soon that'll fix it.

After all the game is fast with Nvidia cards of similar spec to ours, so it's not indicative of a general performance problem with the game.

I wish i knew why the hell most games released nowadays are geared for Nvida cards i think this is a complete lack of forsight on there part games should be geared towards all cards not just Nvida Those of us like me who paied there hard earned money to buy this game should be able to play it . Ive tried everything i can think of to stop the lagging in gameplay but cannot find a solution. This is exteremly annoying and i dont like wasting my money and fell that i have in this instance. If EA is the great company they say they are they should release a FIX for these problems ASAP!! Or mabe off us a way of returning the game and getting our money back this is completly unfair i paied for this game now I WANT TO PLAY IT!!!!

WHERES OUR FIX EA???????

Well personally, I have noticed more and more, that during the start up of games you see Nvidia and Intel as sponsors of the game. Those 2 companies are trying to force out AMD/ATI, by paying the game developers to write the games for their computer hardware. It sucks nothing we can do about it. I have a Phenom II 940 X4, Asus 790 chipset, and an Asus 4870x2 (Dragon platform). Maybe AMD should build a console/computer; If they built a console like my machine, they could do what everyone else does; have the developer build the game around their system. That’s how Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo have the games. Maybe even have a Linux custom tailored to the hardware. Major competition for apple at that point. A gaming system that’s a full on Linux distribution, with the computer power better than a Mac and the gaming power better than a PS3. I see success if AMD did this. They produce the chipsets and the processors, both CPU/GPU, why not? AMD Dragon, the future of console gaming.

Of course, imbecile, you have a Nvidia.
This is an ATI problem. Probably related to PhysX.
Jeez people...
Edit: I have Windows 7 x64, and game still runs like crap.

Eh? The 360 uses an ATI graphics card...and none of the consoles use Intel Processors.

And, aside from perhaps ID Software games that use opengl, there's little if any significant difference between the corresponding performance in games using ati or nvidia graphics cards.

This is just a bug that's all. New drivers will appear. End of.

How are new drivers gonna fix anything?
NFS testers would have been "testing" on the same drivers the users would/should have -the current-, NOT some future release that gonna come in a few weeks
Sloppy testing, slopping coding. Pick one [or both]

It's difficult to tell if you're being obtuse by asking this or if you are genuinely ignorant?

So what? That's an obvious statement.

Sloppy thinking wasn't an option, can I still choose it?
