Hello guys and gals! This thread is here for discussing the next big Need for Speed game after Shift. I know it's early, but we do believe that the game is already in development, so why not have a thread for it too... Jussi PS. Thanks for Levi61092 for requesting this thread!

Yeah...
A) Wider selection of cars from different manufacturer's with no repeats because it's a 'different' company. Instead of two cars that are both the same like the Matrix and Vibe or Monaro and GTO let's get the Bentley Continental SuperSpeed or TVR Tuscan.
B) Carbon fibre bodykits. We should be able to choose not only if our spoilers and hoods are carbon fibre but if our entire bodies are too.
C) Obviously a cockpit view should be continued and more sim-based tuning ability. Even if we have cops and traffic I miss being able to have greater control over how my car handles. Adding in a dumb down control in the menu to make the cars handle more like arcade racers for careers and non-internet based multiplayer would be a wise idea too.
D) A colourful background that doesn't have a yellow or blue tint over everything. It washes out what is a truly wonderous background making it appear less desirable.
E) Fully customizable vinyls. All vinyls should be modifiable in full colour, size, rotation, skew, and position. Not just half of them.
F) Roof scoops. I don't like them but they make sense for those of us who want to pretend we dragged our air conditioners out of the car.
G) Open world drift. All those circuit races in tight areas and sprint races should have the option of being played as Drifts for additional cash and for an additional trophy.
H) Better purses for rerun races. Instead of offering 10% of the original purse let's pump it up to 25% so that we can buy cars more quickly after beating the game and play with their looks more.
I) Online Tournaments, the leaderboard should have a section for best time based off of points. You tune a car to have 700 or 800 or 950 points and then people compete to have the best times. I'd recommend this for offline but with an open world it seems silly to have something so track oriented.

I was thinking sort of something like this:
• You could not only be pursued by the cops, but you could also take the job of a cop. This would open a wide new variety of police cars and game modes.
• MOTORCYCLES!! Just imagine...you're in a four car race with another motorcycle and two cars. You start and crash. You take control of your character and have to get back on your bike. Once you get back on, you take a shortcut that only motorcycles can take. You jump right back behind the other vehicles. You hit your nitro and room throught the middle of the cars. You swerve through traffic and win the race. WOuldn't motorcycles be cool?

I'm not sure I included this but a slight performance change with damage. I've trashed my car so I shouldn't be surprised it don't go over 180 mph. I'm crashed headlong into a barrier at 200 mph on my motorcycle...I shouldn't be surprised that the game said I'm dead and I'll have to start career mode all over again.

I would love the need for speed 2010 to be back in the street racing scene much like they had in need for speed most wanted, games like that, but with updates of course, much like other people here have said. I just think that they should stick with what makes them great, and that was street racing, gran turismo, forza, project gotham, they have the race track games, burnout has the crashing cars high speed racing, and need for speed has the street racing, pink slips, cop chasing that I'm sure allot of have loved about them. So, that's what I'm hoping to see with need for speed 2010.

1) I think that need for speed should make a game like "need for speed Porsche unleashed 2000 ".
2) they should take the same idea of that game and add better tracks and cars .
3) they should have street racing and and what ever they had in most wanted.
4) take a company like Mercedes find out its history.
5) it has many cars and a long history .
6) u can make a good game.
7) please we don't want a game like pro street again made.

Actually, probably the best thing to do is go back to the beginning...somewhat. Now I know what we're all saying...but Sil!
But think of it this way. If Shift's tuning, visual modifications, and performance upgrades turn out good then we keep those. As is. Literally. No dumbing it down, completely as is.
Then add freeroam and cops. Cops that only chase you and appear when you race. Of course you can find rare parts if you actually free roam, have one on one races from free roam, and find all your races and shops by way of GPS and driving there. A little work helps immerse us in the game.
It's important to put a reason to free roam though. That's why the random extra outrun races and rare parts.
Traffic is a good idea but for both traffic and cops there should only be a maximum of six cars per race. More than that and you just get a crap shoot.
This would be bringing it closer to the original than ever been before. Simulation quality physics with arcade tracks and gameplay.

they should add another thing if they make a game like porsche unleashed again.
and the time should run normally and we can drive in both day and night time
they should add free roam and the world should look like as it was in the 1950's and 60's in the classic era
it should look like 70's and 80's in the golden era
and like 90's and the 21st century in the modern era
this would give it a realistic look

You know what this game really needs???
A program inside of it that teaches us all how to properly spell and write so the rest of us understand what the few of us are talking about...wouldn't that be great?

The 2010 game should be a BMW Unleashed. They can put in :
*The game engine from shift if it's good enough
*The In car camera view
*The best loved, fastest, most controversial, best looking BMW's in the world.
*Their scrapped concept cars. Read this :
One of BMW's best-kept secrets is the canceled BMW M8 Prototype. Originally envisioned as a Ferrari competitor, only a single prototype was ever produced, equipped with a special 550 bhp (410 kW) version of the S70 engine, essentially a bored out version of the M70 with experimental multi-valve cylinder heads. A common misconception is that this engine eventually ended up in the McLaren F1. However, when this was suggested to McLaren's designer Gordon Murray, the idea was rejected because the engine was overweight and too long for the McLaren F1. A whole new BMW engine was designed which has a closer resemblance to the later Euro S50B30 BMW M3 engine.
The project was eventually scrapped because BMW decided that there was no market for an M8. The only prototype ever produced (one that was reportedly not even road safe) was locked away by BMW in the company's Giftschrank (poison storage) and has reportedly been destroyed.[2]
While the M8 was never produced, it is interesting to note that the 850CSi was also tuned by BMW's M division. Aside from sporting an M-tuned engine (as identified by the S suffix instead of the M prefix that a non-M tuned engine would wear), the car's VIN identifies the car as being built by BMW Motorsport (identified by the WBS prefix) instead of BMW AG (WBA prefix). This effectively identifies the 850CSi as essentially a detuned version of the M8.

In response to BMW...
Need For Speed : Fourth Reich
We could include BMW, Audi, Mercedes Benz, Porsche, and because Italy was an ally...Lamborghini (which really is German now) and Ferrari.
We could even have a Hitler like person waving us off at the start line. Well, okay maybe not. But it'd be funny.

After reading lots of comments on here and other big videogame forum sites such as Gamespot, I decided to write an idea for the next Need for Speed game. I was planning on posting it on here as well as sending it directly to EA.
Honestly, I don't understand why EA went back to the racing simulation like ProStreet. They claim the reason ProStreet wasn't a hit was because it was a fully racing simulation game. But I believe they are wrong. I believe the reason it was frowned upon was because people don't want a racing simulation game from Need for Speed. They can get that by buying Gran Turismo, Forza, or any of the other fully racing simulation games. What the people want from EA and the Need for Speed franchise is the illegal, street racing scene. That’s what really hit it off with the series.
Now I believe that we need to return and make almost a Underground 2/Most Wanted mix game with Next Gen updates and graphics of course.
With all this that I have read, I have compiled a game that I think will satisfy most. The one thing I didn't add to the game that I know some will frown upon is Exotics. Personally, I don't believe that it is realistic or even smart for that matter to race a $200,000 car on the streets but then again, this is a game not real life. I do try to add as much realistic touches to this game as possible though so it still has the real life feel and effect. This is the game I have created. Please leave comments and let me know what you think. Give input if you'd like and also sign off on it if you agree because I think the more people that agree, at least with the basis of the story mode and game, then we can maybe get it through to EA and have a chance to get a good quality game out of them. We can fine tune the little stuff later, but for now. Let’s get away from this racing sim and back to what Need for Speed should be.
Need for Speed: Back To The Streets©
Need for Speed returns to the streets and is here to stay with Need for Speed: Back to the Streets! Experience the world of street racing in an all new view where you start from nothing and work your way up through not only racing but meeting people and making contacts to get you further! Take on your competition from the streets of the City to the Beach!
Story/Background:
Ryan Patrick Michaels aka “RPM” has lived on the outskirts of Paradise Beach all his life. He recently moved into the heart of the city so he could attend a community college and hopefully find direction in his life. But disaster struck and Ryan soon ran out of money. He had always had a passion for cars and now in need a job, turned to Redline Performance. With some luck, Ryan was able to score a job driving parts and stocking.
One day at work, Ryan happened to over here some guys buy a turbo, that there was a big street racing going down that night on Sunset Drive. Ryan got off work at 8:00 so he thought he just might swing by and see what happens. When Ryan arrived, he was stunned to see the number of people that were gathered around the racing cars. There must have been hundreds! He struggled to get up close and to see the beautiful cars. A few minutes later a woman ran out in front of the cars. She held her arms up, and then quickly threw them down. The cars went flying off the line, RPMs screaming and turbos spooling up. Ryan immediately knew this is what he wanted to do; become a street racer and rule the city of Paradise Beach.
As you play through the career mode, you begin working for Redline Performance by day, and racing and building up your ride and rep by night, becoming the King of Paradise Beach.
Once you begin to earn enough money and have a high enough rep, you then have the option to leave Redline Performance and buy a piece of real-estate in which you build your own Garage and Performance shop with your own touches. There, you can build your own cars, tune them, and even dyno them! Of course you need to have enough money to buy the lifts and dynos for your garage before you can do that and start making the big money. Let’s just hope your shop is big enough for all the business!
