Need for Speed Racing Games

In my case, crashes at launch
I didn't even see the splash screen(if there is...)

xp sp3, core2duo, gtx260

disappointed...

We would love at least a comment about the issue! It seems like a lot of us are experiencing this same problem. A little customer service can go a long way!

I've been online with ea help twice for about 5 hours total. I've updated every driver on my computer that has enough hardware in it to definitely run this game, and nothing. They keep telling me to delete the game and reinstall. I tried telling the second guy that I even went back to Game Stop and got another disk, still crashes right before the first curve in the intro lap. They apparently know absolutely nothing about this problem and obviously have no idea how to fix it. I'm very close to getting my money back for this game.

well my friend has almost the same setup and is playing fine.

winxp
nvidia drivers 190.62
verified that sp3 is installed

athlon x2 6000+
2gb ram ocz reaper
2x 8800gts oc in sli

i can get past the first turn and crash in the second turn if i turn off one core.

my friend has ati card and 4600+ are the only differences
and his runs fine.
so frustrating

Alright Guys,

I think I've figured out the solution to the problem.

It's actually the freaking CONTROLLERS

1) Go into the game and go to where you change/ assginment keys to the controllers
2) Scroll to preset 4 (or your appropriate controllers. E.g G25 and etc) where it says mouse and Keyboard
3) Map your keys in your selected "preset"
4) It works for me, and I think this is the problem.

Runs brillant now, Hasnt have any Issue

The other bug is, I can't sign on the EA NATION, it just won't let me type !!!

Tried the controller fix. Still nothing, crashes even earlier now.

i tried that.

went to the controls and chose preset 4 for mouse keyboard then manually calibrate everything to the wheel.

still crashing in the same place.

sigh

and nary a word from EA

I will 3rd that that fix does not work for me either. Im using an xbox controller and thought it would help, but, nope.. -_-

Did you guys keep the default "graphic settings" ?

Online with an ea rep now. They have no idea of any problems with the game. I'll post a fix asap if they give me one.

default graphics settings... i dont think there are defaults... and no, i want to see the game in all its glory!!! MUAHA and thank you for getting on the horn about the issue!

found the problem, the english text must bug some people including me, so i thought why not change to german. and it worked lol.

Thanks to EArep Scarlett, my issue is fixed. She suggested if others are having this issue, drag the temp folder that is created in your My Documents folder to your desktop. It'll generate another when you create your profile upon entering the game, but it worked in my case. I hope this helps others too.

can anyone confirm any of these methods?

This seems to be triggered when changing your graphic settings in game. I've erased the saved games/settings in Documents and everything works... well kinda, in default settings.

I know this is a console port EA, but come on...
